When Anglophone Section students enter 6e, they may chose to begin study of a foreign language (French and English are NOT considered foreign languages but as ‘base’ languages of instruction).
Section pupils are NOT OBLIGED to choose the study of a Foreign Language in 6e. Any student who has difficulties with either of the ‘base’ languages should consider concentrating on those languages and to wait until 4e before beginning the study of another language.
Students who do elect to study of a language in 6e may choose between German, Russian or Portuguese. This will be considered as their first Foreign Language ( LV1). This language must to be studied during all 4 years of Collège. Additionally, all students will begin a second foreign language in 4e (LV2) with a choice between German, Russian and Spanish. Section students have a relatively full timetable in Collège and so are unable to study Latin or Greek – those pupils who are interested in the study of these subjects should consider the excellent programmes offered by the State-run CNED ( Cours National d’Enseignement à Distance), http://www.cned.fr/.
CHOIX DE LANGUES EN 6E
L’anglais et le français sont considérés comme les langues de base pour les élèves de la Section Anglophone, pas comme des langues étrangères.
Il n’y a aucune obligation de commencer l’étude d’une langue étrangère en 6e. Un élève qui est totalement à l’aise en français et en anglais peut opter pour l’étude d’une autre langue : il peut choisir l’allemand, le russe ou le portugais.Il gardera cette langue comme LV1 au moins jusqu’à l’entrée en 2nde.
En 4e tous les élèves peuvent choisir une LV2 : l’allemand, le russe ou l’espagnol.L’emploi du temps chargé de nos élèves rend impossible l’étude du latin ou du grec.
