Blue skies and chirping birds welcomed our Primary students as they took part in the annual cross country race in the forest near the school yesterday. After several weeks’ practice, everyone was ready to give it their best. Every student chose the distance that he or she wanted to run and tried to ‘fulfill the contract’. Ranging from one to three and a half kilometres, students completed their races while parents and well-wishers cheered them on. The paths were clearly marked out by the sports department of the Fontainebleau town council who also took count of the total number of kilometres completed. Every teacher received a certificate to display in class with the distance the students completed. Despite the difficulty, students were thrilled to be out in the open air. Congratulations to one and all!
