Welcome to all Families
Dear Parents and Students,
In the wake of the challenging conditions of last term, I hope you all enjoyed a pleasant summer break and were able to take advantage of some family time together, whether at home or further afield.
The Section is delighted to welcome the many new students and their families joining us. The Section looks set on having a record number of students this year and demand continues to exceed places available. So, whether you are returning to the Section or are starting with us for the very first time, we are very much looking forward to seeing this coming week.
We are particularly delighted that we are back in school. We have all missed being with our students and there is no doubt that our students are looking forward to seeing each other. The measures to be implemented in schools, as set by the Ministry of Education, are greatly reduced compared to the Summer Term and essentially, conditions will be relatively normal except for the compulsory wearing of a face covering for all adults and students in 6e and above.
The French schools have published the details for going back to school next week and particularly in the Secondary schools, their own websites are a useful point of reference and should be consulted on a regular basis.
There is, of course some uncertainty about how the year will unfold, in the light of the COVID-19 situation. The Anglophone Section has contingency plans in place should we be obliged to return to teaching and learning online. The French administration have made it clear that the possibility for trips this year will be greatly reduced. While our usual three day weekend in Buthiers will not be possible in its traditional format, the Section is exploring an alternative and we will send you more details of this during the course of next week.
We remain at your disposition; the easiest way to contact the section is via email of phone. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher at any point if you have any questions or concerns about their learning.
On behalf of us at the Section, I wish you each of you a happy, successful and healthy academic year.
