The Anglophone Section’s first ever family barbecue took place on Saturday on the farm of Claudine and Nicolas G. in Auvernaux. More than three hundred happy parents and excited children convened in the lovely setting of an authentic farm yard to enjoy one another’s company and to devour the delicious mountain of chicken and sausages, baked potatoes, salads, bread and cheeses. From the sterling “parking attendants” (MUN students) to the expert cooks, the event was perfectly orchestrated and thoroughly enjoyed. While the adults sat on the hay bales to enjoy their food and listen to the guitar ensemble, children ran around playing games or had a go at volleyball. Even the weather played along, reserving the first drops for when the scrumptious desserts were served in the barn. An unforgettable evening and a tradition to be pursued!
